Located in downtown Steamboat Springs, Howelsen Hill Ski area is the oldest operating ski area in North America. Running since 1915, the resort is steeped in Olympic history, having trained nearly 90 Olympian skiers on its slopes. The resort offers 50 acres of skiable terrain, with 17 alpine trails, 9 nordic trails, two terrain parks and a natural ski-jumping complex. Granby Ranch is a family-owned resort about an hour and half from Steamboat Springs. Its large base area is anchored by two mountains. Each side offers a different terrain. The East side designed for intermediate and beginner skiers, while the West has challenging blue and black runs for more experienced skiers. The resort offers a total of 35 groomed trails and five ski lifts for its 406 skiable acres. It has a base elevation of 8,202 ft, with a 9,202 ft summit on the East Mountain and a 9,166 ft summit on the West. The annual average snowfall is 220 inches.
