Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort

North Powder, OR

Anthony Lakes is a ski area in eastern Oregon. It’s near the cities of La Grande and Baker City, about two and a half hours from Boardman. Its claim to fame is the highest base elevation in Oregon at nearly 7,000 ft. It’s summit elevation 8,000 feet above sea level with 900 ft vertical drop. The resort has 1,000 acres of alpine terrain with a total of 21 runs that skew toward intermediate and expert. Anthony Lakes also offers 30km of groomed, track-set Nordic ski trails.

Ski Bluewood

Dayton, WA

Ski Bluewood, formerly known as “Bluewood Ski Area,” is a popular alpine ski area in southeastern Washington. It’s about a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Boardman, OR. The ski resort features 24 runs, about 25% easy, 45% intermediate and 30% difficult. The resort has two triple chair lifts and a conveyor lift to get skiers to it’s 5,670 ft summit. Visitors will also enjoy on site dining, a pub, rental and repair shop.

Timberline

Government Camp, OR

Established in 1927, Timberline is the longest running ski area in Oregon. It’s located near the top of Mt. Hood, an 11,245-foot volcano and tallest mountain in Oregon. Timberline offers one of the most exciting and unique high-alpine mountain experiences in North America with 4,540 vertical feet – more than any other ski area in the United States. Timberline has a lot of terrain for every ski level with a total of 41 runs and multiple terrain parks. They have six high-speed quads, two doubles, one surface lift and two passenger snowcats.

Mt. Hood Meadows

Mount Hood, Oregon

Mount Hood Meadows is a ski resort on the southeastern face of Mount Hood in northern Oregon and is the largest of the mountain’s ski resorts. It is located about 67 miles east of Portland and just over two hours from Boardman. The variety of terrain is what makes it so unique and popular and the incredible panoramic views from its 7,300-foot elevation don’t hurt. There are steep bowls, powder-filled canyons, double black-diamonds and gladed tree runs for thrill seeking advanced skiers. They also have gentle beginner slopes and terrain parks on its 2,150 skiable acres.

White Pass Ski Area

Naches, WA

Located 12 miles Southeast of Mt. Rainier National Park, White Pass Ski area is about three hours from Boardman. The majestic views of Mt. Rainier along with the relaxed, family atmosphere make this ski area well worth the drive. Additionally, the 1,400-acre ski area boasts over 40 runs, many lifts, jumps & a day lodge. It has a vertical rise of over 2,000 feet and terrain that’s suitable for beginners to advanced.  They also have a Nordic ski area and terrain parks for the freestylers.
