Mt. Pinos Nordic Skiing, Frazier Park, CA

Less of a ski resort and more of a recreational area, Mt. Pinos Nordic Skiing offers an excellent option for cross-country skiing near L.A. It’s just over an hour away and requires an adventure pass for each car. There’s no rental, so you’ll also need to bring your own skis.

Mountain High, Wrightwood, CA

At 1.5 hours away, Mountain High is one of the best ski resorts you’ll find near Los Angeles in Southern California. Formerly three separate resorts, it now boasts 59 trails for snowboarding and skiing. The runs vary in difficulty from beginner to expert, with plenty in between for thrill seekers of all levels.
