Alpine Valley is a family-friendly ski resort, just over 2 hours from Columbus. It’s located in Ohio’s snow belt and racks up more natural snow than any other resort in the state. The resort is on the smaller side with just 11 runs. Most of the trails are wooded and ungroomed, offering a unique ski experience you won’t find anywhere else in Ohio.

Seven Springs Mountain Resort

Champion, PA

Seven Springs Mountain Resort offers something for everyone, from beginner-friendly bunny hills to heart-pounding double black diamonds for thrill-seeking skiers. Ten ski lifts get you to resort’s 33 trails and terrain park. You’ll also find a few different lodges where you can take a break and get a bite to eat.

Mad River Mountain

Zanesfield, OH

Less than an hour from Columbus, Mad River Mountain is Ohio’s largest ski resort. It offers 20 trails, sprawling 144 acres with the largest vertical drop in the state (300 feet). There are ski runs for everyone, from bunny hills to thrilling expert-level slopes and four terrain parks. Mad River also has a 10 lane tubing park, the biggest in Ohio.

Snow Trails

Mansfield, OH

Snow Trails is the oldest and coldest ski resort in Ohio. It’s also the second largest with 3.3 miles of trails. It is nestled in the Possum Run Valley, the best place for making and maintaining snow in the state. The resort’s trails are mostly rated intermediate and difficult, making it a popular destination for more seasoned skiers.

Boston Mills & Brandywine

Peninsula, OH

Boston Mills & Brandywine are sister resorts located a mile apart from each other in Peninsula, OH. They are a bit on the smaller side, offering only 1.2 miles of skiable terrain and a 264-foot vertical drop. But what they lack in size they make up for in quality. They appeal to both beginner and veteran skiers with high-quality lessons and high-quality, predominately advanced-rated runs.
